Built to Automate Large-Scale Turf Maintenance

RM21 is designed for professional mowing applications such as golf courses, sports fields, orchards, municipalities, campuses, and other large managed properties. Instead of manually driving a mower across the same areas every day, operators can create digital work zones and let RM21 execute repeatable mowing tasks automatically.

From Mapping to Autonomous Mowing

How Does the RM21 Work?

The mower first learns where it should work. After mapping and task setup, RM21 follows planned routes using RTK + LiDAR, detects obstacles, and can return for charging automatically.

STEP 01

Map the Area & Plan the Route

First, create the digital mowing area. RM21 can then automatically generate organized working routes inside the defined boundary.

Instead of wandering randomly like many residential robotic mowers, RM21 follows planned passes to reduce overlap and missed areas.

STEP 02

Divide the Property into Zones

A large property does not need to be treated as one giant mowing area. Individual fields, fairways, rough areas, or turf sections can be organized as separate digital work zones.

RM21 can execute a single task across multiple zones, simplifying management of larger commercial sites.

STEP 03

Configure & Schedule the Job

Use the supported app workflow to manage the mower, review maps and job history, and create future mowing schedules.

Map Management Schedule Blade Speed Travel Speed Cutting Height Job History
STEP 04

Navigate with RTK + LiDAR

RM21 combines RTK positioning with LiDAR sensing to support precise and stable autonomous navigation.

LiDAR is especially useful in environments such as beneath trees or around structures where satellite positioning can become challenging.

STEP 05

Detect Obstacles During Operation

Real-time 360° LiDAR helps detect objects around the machine while it follows its autonomous route.

Front and rear physical bumpers provide another layer of protection for commercial operating environments.

STEP 06

Automatically Return to Charge

When the battery becomes low, RM21 supports automatic return to its charging station.

This reduces manual battery handling and supports longer, scheduled autonomous mowing workflows.

Used to support positioning, mapping, route following, and autonomous navigation around the property.

RM21 app and network connectivity

Connectivity

App / Wi-Fi / Network Services

Communication connectivity can support setup, remote app functions, software services, monitoring, and the selected RTK deployment configuration.

Site setup matters.

The exact RTK, network, antenna, and charging configuration depends on property size, terrain, tree coverage, and deployment method. Contact DRT before installation to confirm the recommended site configuration.

Optional Terrain Upgrade

Optional Dual Rear Tires

For slopes and uneven ground, RM21 can use optional dual rear tires to provide additional traction and stability.

Standard Setup

Standard Rear Wheels

Suitable for typical commercial turf conditions.

Optional Upgrade

Dual Rear Tires

Additional tire contact helps improve grip and stability on slopes and uneven ground.

Optional equipment. Contact DRT to confirm availability, compatibility, mounting hardware, and installation requirements.

Performance & Deployment Notes

Mowing-area figures are theoretical values under standard test conditions. Actual coverage depends on operating hours, terrain, grass conditions, cutting height, slope, charging configuration, and other site conditions.

On slopes, routes should generally be planned uphill and downhill. Cross-slope mowing should be avoided or performed with caution.

Always inspect the work area before autonomous mowing. Obstacle-detection performance can vary with object size, grass height, terrain, lighting, and movement.

RTK equipment, antennas, network configuration, charging equipment, optional attachments, software services, and installation requirements may vary by project and package. Contact DRT to confirm the complete configuration before deployment.
